Camp Store Host Lead

Location: Camp Timber-lee, East Troy, WI (53120)   |   Payrate: $275/week

If you enjoy both the guest service and the managerial aspects of retail, you may find this ministry position to be right up your alley. Assign, follow-up, and assist store staff in sales, stocking, organizing, cleaning, and cash handling, while modeling kind, considerate service to staff, campers and camper families.   • Must be on time to shifts
  • Answer students questions
  • Sign in/out students
  • Handle money, including opening, closing and reconciling cash drawers.
  • Organize merchandise in both store areas and storage closets.
  • Clean stores.
  • Open and close stores according to scheduled hours.
  • Manage merchandise and summer staff assisting in the Saturday Mega Store.
  • Distribute camper mail on a daily basis, including intake of mail during registration.
  • Attend all meetings, both departmental and camp-wide.
  • Be involved in other camp activities as planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, as the schedule allows, mainly after dinner hours.
  • Assist in various responsibilities in order to facilitate Sunday camper drop off and Saturday camper pick up
  • Fulfill temporary assignments to other duties, including Cabin Leader, as needed.


  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Previous experience working with kids a plus!

  • Experience in retail or customer service is preferred, but not required
  • Must be capable of running a cash drawer and making change
  • Knowledge of Square is preferred
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills, presenting a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude to all guests
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to teach and lead others.
  • Is able to take charge of a large crowd
  • Directs, sets up and supervises summer staff assisting in the Saturday Mega Store
  • Works diligently all set daily hours
  • Is able to responsibly operate a golf cart
  • Is able to carry boxes (weighing up to 50 pounds) up and down stairs
  • Communicates clearly with coworkers when giving direction or correction
  • Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground in all seasons of the year; able to be on one’s feet for long periods of time
  • Must be at least 16 years old
