Job Description:

Who We Are Camp Marimeta is more than a camp, it’s a feeling! Some may call it spirit, passion or even belonging; at Marimeta we believe this is what sets us apart from the rest. Since 1947, Camp Marimeta for Girls has been providing exceptional traditional overnight camping for young ladies. Marimeta strives to create a supportive and nurturing community of girls to help them grow into independent, confident and capable women so they can become leaders to go out into the world and help create strong communities. At Marimeta, girls can disconnect from technology and connect with their peers. We teach girls to communicate with each other, be empowered, take responsibility for their actions, grow from mistakes, become self-sufficient, and learn to problem solve. It is equally important at Marimeta to be silly, get creative, be ourselves and have carefree fun in such a special environment! The Role In A Nutshell We’re looking to hire a Summer Maintenance Worker to help camp run smoothly behind the scenes. There are daily tasks that include making repairs to facilities, collecting the trash from bins around camp, groundskeeping including mowing grass and collecting fallen branches, etc...and other tasks that will pop up whenever something goes awry. This role starts June 1 and runs through August 31 at our summer camp in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Room and board are included with compensation. A Typical Day on the maintenance crew (not that there’s a typical day at camp…) Grab a hot breakfast! Check in with the Facilities Director to get assignments for the day. Hop in the golf cart and do a quick trip around camp to empty the garbage bins. Head to the waterfront to fill the boats with gas before they are used for the day. Take in the beautiful view of Meta Lake. Get started on daily assignments. It’s time for lunch! Grab a quesadilla and some chips & salsa and hang out with the staff. After lunch, it’s time for some fun in the sun...grab the weed wacker and head over to the tennis courts to keep them looking great. Uh oh, the Facilities Director finds you and lets you know that a window to Cabin 7 was broken. Head over to the cabin to pull out the screen to get replaced. You’re done with the weed wacking, so you check back on the “to do” list today. Before you know it, it’s dinner time and the work day is over! Feel free to join in on camp activities during Evening Program, or head out for the day -- your choice! Perks Of The Job A competitive salary Room and board (3 meals a day plus snacks) for the entire summer and travel expense reimbursement A beautiful camp surrounded by a stunning waterfront New friendships and memories that will last a lifetime All the s’mores you can imagine Reports to: Facilities Director
